Vermont Interfaith Power and Light

A faith-based response to global climate change

The Katy Gerke Memorial Program

Vermont Interfaith Power and Light (VTIPL) now has a matching grant program, The Katy Gerke Memorial Program, for Christian churches in Vermont and twelve towns* in the Upper Connecticut River Valley of New Hampshire. This grant program will help churches decrease their energy use by making energy efficiency improvements in their buildings. Grant funding is also available for energy audits. Each congregation that receives grant funding will be required to contribute matching funds to their project that at least equal the amount of the grant.

A brochure describing the program and application forms are available below in downloadable PDF files. For more information, please contact VTIPL Coordinator, Betsy Hardy, at 802-434-3397 or email:

(*New Hampshire towns: Bath, Charleston, Claremont, Cornish, Hanover, Haverhill, Lebanon, Lyme, New London, Oxford, Piermont, and Plainfield.)
